The PILAK-PILIPINAS Collection — PRESS RELEASE DECEMBER 8, 2009
(contact Brian Tenorio at +63 908 3070438, or via info@briantenorio.com)
New York-based Filipino Shoe Designer Brian Tenorio is launching a new collection of absolutely-inspired silver jewelry for Filigrenasia–the largest retailer of fine silver Jewelry in the Philippines.
“I’ve been based in New York now for almost two years and I miss my hometown Manila/Marikina at every turn. Sure, some of the best shops and museums and places in the world can be found in New York, but the best times of my life (so far) happened in the Philippines. I feel that somehow, every Filipino living overseas wants to go home,” says the designer.
The pieces are sleek and subtle handcrafted pieces in premium silver. According to Tenorio, the designs seek to fulfill a very personal need. “It’s really cool that the Philippine map, for example, is visible everywhere—on shirts, polos, accessories, BRILLIANT WORK!—but I’ve always wanted to have it on me but it has got to match certain more-urban looks whenever I am in the city. When dressed up for cocktails or for work, I’d like to have smaller details that would express who I am and where I am from so that was when I thought that it definitely has got to be jewelry.”
The Pilak-Pilipinas Collection by Brian Tenorio is exclusively available at Filigrenasia stores (SM Megamall, SM MOA, SM Cebu, SM Davao, SM Clark, Ayala Center Cebu, and Boracay) and two Gaeacraft branches (Shangri-La Mall and Alabang Town Center). The pieces are priced from Php 1190 to Php 6980 (US$25 to 150). Tenorio made sure that the pieces will be accessibly priced (especially in Dollars) as the styles are also targeted to sell to visiting balikbayans coming home for the holidays. These pieces make the perfect gift for our foreigner friends as well! For more inquiries, contact Filigrenasia at telephone numbers 6341681 or 9510156 or the designer via info@briantenorio.com. Shop for these pieces at the Filigrenasia stores as soon as possible as there is already an order queue for some of the more popular pieces.
